KiVa Kick-Off

It was all happening in Redeemer Boys' N.S. on Friday 28th September as we had our 'KiVa Kick-Off' event!! We are making bullying prevention a priority by implementing this evidence-based Finnish anti-bullying programme. It has been brought to Ireland by 'The Genesis Programme' and we are part of the first cohort of schools to be trained in the programme, one of two schools in Dundalk! The teachers will now begin exploring the various themes with the pupils. Parents will be invited to an information meeting in October.

On 20th November, Universal Children's Day, the KiVa Anti-Bullying Programme was officially launched at an event in the Crowne Plaza. It was a wonderful day, which quite rightly saw the children placed at the centre of proceedings. It is truly a privilege to be part of this move, which is in response to what parents see as the biggest concern they have for their children. We are immensely proud of the group of 20 boys who attended the event and represented the school so well on stage in front of a packed hall!!
