Our relay team competed against seven other local schools in the Calaroga cup, an annual inter-school relay competition, which was held in the Friary field last Friday. St. Malachy's Boys kept the trophy at home for another year after a very close finish with C.B.S and St. Joseph's, Muirhevnamor.
The history of this event dates back to the '60s and has involved many of Dundalk's best athletes. The cup was originally sponsored by the Dominican fathers and was named after the birthplace of St. Dominic in Spain.
