Wellbeing and Physical Education
Well done to the boys on our active committee for organising, cleaning and sorting our PE cupboard 🙌
This will make it much easier for teachers to access the sports equipment🥎🏀⚽️🏈
We are very proud and honoured to have achieved our new Active School Flag.🇫🇲
This is a Department of Education and Skills initiative that recognises schools that strive to achieve a physically active and physically educated school community.
Today we held an Active Flag Ceremony. This involved the Active Flag Committee raising the Active Flag in front of the entire school. Celebrations included singing, dancing and ice cream.🍦🍦🍦
We were super proud of our relay team today as they competed against schools from across the town for the Calaroga Cup at the Friary field. Whilst the team did not qualify for the final race, they were placed first when the teams that did not qualify raced off against each other. The boys showed great focus, determination and team spirit this afternoon and that in itself makes them winners! Many words of encouragement were exchanged between the boys before, during and after the races! 🏃♀️🏃♂️
Thank you to Miss Quigley for training and preparing the boys so well for this competition!
Congratulations to St.Joesph's National School on winning the overall competition 👏
- The teachers and pupils have been working hard this year to enhance their knowledge and skills in the strand of athletics.
Over six weeks all classes learnt and developed the fundamental skills of throwing, jumping, catching and running.
The javelins and discus were a big hit!🏃🤾
